An induction motor is an electrical machine that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy by using electromagnetic induction. It works on the principle of a rotating magnetic field that is generated by an alternating current flowing in the stator windings. This rotating magnetic field induces currents in the rotor, which then produces a torque and causes the rotor to rotate. Induction motors are widely used in various applications such as fans, pumps, compressors, and many other industrial machines because of their simplicity, reliability, and efficiency.
